Williams maakt zich zorgen om naleving kostenafspraken

Williams-directeur Adam Parr is er niet zeker van dat de Resource Restriction Agreement, overeen gekomen door teamverbond FOTA, volledig uitgevoerd wordt. De bepaling om de kosten verder te reduceren staat onder druk door mogelijke regelveranderingen, al zijn sommige slechts van tijdelijke aard zoals bijvoorbeeld het ontwijken van het testverbod om te testen met de banden van de nieuwe bandenleverancier.

Parr: De afgelopen jaren hebben we een delicate balans bereikt. De kosten zijn flink terug gebracht ten aanzien van wat ze waren en voor de komende twee jaar hebben we met de Resource Restriction Agreement een programma om de uitgaven nog verder te reduceren. Ik ben zeer bezorgd dat we daar niet meer alles uit zullen halen. Er is weinig dat we kunnen doen om de show te verbeteren waarmee de kosten niet omhoog gaan. Als je kijkt naar de grid voor 2011, dan verkeert het merendeel van de teams niet in de positie om de uitgaven te vergroten. Voor velen is het zelfs van belang dat ze drastisch minder uitgeven. Dit is volgens mij niet het moment om veranderingen door te voeren en de kosten te verhogen.

Toch lijken mij die kostenafspraken lastig te handhaven. Je hebt immers ook marktwerking waarbij je sowieso te maken hebt met inflatie en algemene verhogingen van kosten. Ik kan me niet voorstellen dat ze geen jaarlijkse correctiefactor doorvoeren.

  Dat is niet marktwerking. Martkwerking is gewoon de wet van vraag en aanbod. Ik moest even muggenziften weet je :p.

Ik begrijp Adam Parr wel. Maar het vergt wel een andere denkwijze, om de kosten te reduceren terwijl de show verbeterd kan worden.

Mss. moeten de teams meer zaken loslaten.

Zelf had ik geopteerd voor stalen remschijven. Dan kunnen de heren coureurs niet meer plomp op hun rem staan.
Het geeft ook wat meer marge / speelveld bij het remmen.

Jammer genoeg heeft Todt niet gereageerd op mijn sollicitatie voor de functie van F1-commisioner...*zucht*
