Jakarta mag Haryanto niet aan F1-stoeltje helpen

De lokale overheid op Jakarta kan niets doen om Rio Haryanto financieel te ondersteunen. Haryanto moet 15 miljoen euro zien te vergaren zodat hij een racestoeltje bij Manor F1 Team kan bemachtigen voor 2016. Tot nu toe heeft hij alleen 5 miljoen euro van sponsor Pertamina binnen.

Een paar weken geleden dook een bericht op dat de Indonesische regering garant zou staan voor het voltallige bericht, maar niets blijkt minder waar. Imam Nahrawi, minister van Sport, moet nog druk lobbyen om het kabinet aan zijn zijde te krijgen. "Het is zaak om de juiste formule te bedenken voor de financiële steun aan Rio en hoe we aan de eisen van Manor gehoor kunnen geven."

Jakarta kan in elk geval niet bijspringen. In de Jakarta Post zegt gouverneur Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama: "Ik heb de regels erop nageslagen en de financiële toezichthouder geraadpleegd, en we kunnen ons budget niet aanwenden voor commerciële doeleinden als de Formule 1. We mogen geen professionele atleten steunen."

    Jakowi (president) zal beslissen.
    Is zeer goed bevriend met de gouvneur van Jakarta.
    Die 10 miljoen kunnen ze beter besteden aan de armoede in Indonesië.
    Daarom heeft het volk op hem gestemd.
    Man van het volk, van eenvoudige afkomst.
    Het zitje van Haryanto is dus helemaal niet zeker.

    Als ze willen dan zullen ze ongetwijfeld wel een manier vinden, er is heus nog wel een staatsbedrijf dat ze kunnen gebruiken als "sponsor".

    Het zou natuurlijk ook volstrekt belachelijk zijn als een land belastinggeld aan dit soort zaken gaat spenderen. Zeker een land als Jakarta kan dat geld wel beter gebruiken lijkt me zo..

      Venezuela doet precies hetzelfde met PDVSA, in de vorm van staatsbedrijf dat Maldonado sponsort.

      @Distortion. +1 Indonesie is weliswaar geen west europees land maar toch zou men daarmee een enorm precedent word scheppen. Er zou dan meteen een hele rij aan sporters in de rij staan die dan ook hun hand op gaan houden. Dan is het eind zoek. Verder verzwakt het de regerende partij tov de oppositie. Die geef je dan meteen een stok om mee te slaan. Lijkt me niet logisch. Ik denk wel dat PCBEEM gelijk heeft en men hem zal ondersteunen bij het zoeken naar sponsoren. Een constructie Maldonado zeg maar.
