Ferrari heeft meer potentieel in ontwikkeling volgens Mercedes

Mercedes werd de afgelopen twee seizoenen dominant kampioen in de Formule 1. In 2014 had het Duitse team concurrentie te duchten van Williams en Red Bull, in 2015 vormde enkel Ferrari een bedreiging. Mercedes is echter op haar hoede en denkt dat Ferrari een groter potentieel heeft wanneer het aankomt op de ontwikkeling van de bolide gedurende het seizoen.

Ferrari scoorde afgelopen seizoen drie overwinningen, na in 2014 geen enkele overwinning te hebben gescoord. Volgens Niki Lauda, een van de voorzitters van Mercedes, zal Ferrari in 2016 een grotere bedreiging vormen dan in 2016 omdat Mercedes het zou kunnen afleggen in de ontwikkeling.

Lauda over de kansen van Ferrari tegen Mercedes in 2016: "Ferrari is beter in staat om het chassis, aerodynamica en motor te ontwikkelen dan ons. Mercedes heeft veel van haar voordeel behaald door een hele goede motor te ontwikkelen. Ons potentieel tot een nog snellere ontwikkeling zal in 2016 minder zijn, denk ik." Lauda denkt wel dat de eerste drie races voor Ferrari cruciaal zullen zijn om mee te doen om de titel. Lauda denkt dat Sebastian Vettel de grootste bedreiging zal vormen voor de Mercedes-coureurs.

"Ik denk dat de eerste drie races cruciaal zijn om een goed beeld te krijgen wie meegaat doen om de titel en wie niet. Ferrari heeft zich in 2015 sterk hersteld van een slecht 2014. Ze zijn nu op weg om nog beter te worden. Sebastian Vettel is een coureur om rekening mee te houden in 2016. Hij won vorig jaar al weer races en hij is hongerig om nog beter te gaan in 2016", aldus Lauda.

Het is jammer inderdaad, maar dat heeft Raikkonen toch ook het vrijwel hele seizoen wel laten zien? Met uitzondering van Bahrein dan.

In 2014 was het nog erger. Alonso zat er helemaal ver voor.

Toch pijnlijk om te horen voor Kimi. Met andere woorden zegt Lauda dat Kimi geen bedreiging vormt voor zijn Mercedes.

Laten we het hopen...maar we weten dat Mercedes zich graag minder goed voordoet dan ze daadwerkelijk zijn.

Ik denk dat Mercedes nog genoeg reserves heeft, de meeste races zijn gewonnen met de cruise controle aan. Op circuits waar Mercedes de banden niet optimaal aan het werken kreeg, kon Ferrari toeslaan. Zal in 2016 niet anders zijn.

Ach, het viel zelfs Horner op dat afgelopen seizoen wanneer het echt moest Mercedes nog even het pedaal dieper intrapte en weg was. Dat vond zelfs hij beangstigend om te zien.

Mercedes is echter op haar hoede en denkt dat Ferrari een groter potentieel heeft wanneer het aankomt op de ontwikkeling van de bolide , Daar heeft Lauda gelijk in , de Ferrari chassis is nauwelijks ontwikkeld in 2015 behalve de voor en achtervleugel en vloer , van de motor kant is de ontwikkelingen bekend.
