Pirelli: "Beslissing bandenleverancier kan nog weken duren"

De teams zullen wellicht nog weken in onzekerheid over de banden voor 2011 moeten leven. Bandenleverancier Bridgestone stopt aan het einde van dit seizoen en de zoektocht naar een opvolger neemt veel tijd in beslag. Pirelli lijkt de belangrijkste gegadigde om in te stappen als nieuwe bandenleverancier, maar duidelijkheid kan nog weken op zich laten wachten.

Pirelli-president Marco Tronchetti Provera: De beslissing valt binnenkort. Het zal geen maanden meer duren, maar het kan nog wel een paar weken in beslag nemen. De teams wilden eigenlijk al voor Monaco duidelijkheid over de bandenleverancier voor 2011. Daarna werd de deadline verschoven naar Turkije, maar nu lijkt zelfs een akkoord voor Canada onhaalbaar.
