Niki Lauda koopt vliegmaatschappij Amira Air

Oud-coureur Niki Lauda kan de luchtvaart en het vliegverkeer maar niet loslaten. Die Presse meldt dat de Oostenrijker de vliegmaatschappij Amira Air over heeft genomen. Het is voor de drievoudig wereldkampioen Formule 1 het zoveelste avontuur met een vliegmaatschappij.

Na Lauda Air en Niki bezit hij nu Amira Air. Lauda legt uit: "Eigenaar Ronny Pecik vroeg me of ik belangstelling had. Dus heb ik het bestudeerd en heb ik besloten om ervoor te gaan. Ik wil het bedrijf verder ontwikkelen." Op de vraag of hij zijn eigen naam in de bedrijfsnaam op laat nemen, antwoordde Lauda: "Daar ben ik nog over aan het nadenken."

Amira Air bestaat uit twaalf vliegtuigen en zeventig personeelsleden.
