Dakar: Peterhansel wint zesde etappe en neemt de leiding over in algemeen klassement

Stéphane Peterhansel heeft een zeer sterke zesde etappe in de Dakar Rally gereden vandaag. Peterhansel kwam ruim acht minuten sneller over de finish dan teamgenoot Sebastien Loeb die vierde werd. Door dit resultaat neemt Peterhansel de leiding over in het algemeen klassement van Loeb.

Vandaag was de langste etappe van de Dakar Rally. De special was 542 kilometer lang. Sebastien Loeb moest vandaag zijn meerdere erkennen aan zijn teamgenoten Peterhansel en Carlos Sainz. Peterhansel en Sainz vochten vanaf het begin al met elkaar, maar Stéphane Peterhansel trok aan het langste eind en was 17 seconden sneller dan Carlos Sainz.

Bijzonder vandaag was, dat het niet opnieuw een 1-2-3 voor de Peugeot’s 2008 DKR opleverde. Yazeed Al-Rajhi pakte in zijn Toyota een knappe derde plaats. In het algemeen klassement heeft Peterhansel de leiding overgenomen van Sebastien Loeb. Het verschil tussen de twee Fransozen is slechts 27 seconden.
