F1 moet op zoek naar een ander champagnemerk

Mumm breekt na vijftien jaar trouwe dienst met de Formule 1. Het champagnemerk zorgde steevast voor de champagneflessen op het podium na afloop van een race. Daar betaalde eigenaar Pernod Ricard jaarlijks 5 miljoen euro voor.

Dat was niet meer genoeg voor de leiding van de Formule 1, meldt Thedrinksbusiness.com. Pernod Ricard: "In onze missie om continu te innoveren, op te winden en grenzen te verleggen, hebben we ervoor gekozen om een nieuwe mogelijkheid te verkennen, namelijk de Formule E. We zijn trots op en hebben genoten van onze periode als partner van de Formule 1, die onze naamsbekendheid aanzienlijk heeft vergroot."

Waarschijnlijk vertolkt Moët et Chandon vanaf dit seizoen de rol van champagnesponsor van de Formule 1.

    Het is nooit genoeg voor de leiding van de F1. Over het champagnemerk kan ik me niet heel erg druk maken maar wel over het feit dat deze leiding uit alles de laatste Euro's wil persen.

      Ja, wat een gekke wereld leven we toch, jij blijft zeker ook bij je baas werken, terwijl je ergens anders een ton meer kan verdienen. Welkom in de echte wereld, waarin bedrijven meer omzet genereren.

      Laat ik toch maar reageren op jouw reactie. Ik begrijp zelf ook wel dat de wereld zo werkt, dat is niets nieuws. Maar als je de leiding over F1 hebt dan moet je ook trouw blijven aan de aspecten die de sport zo mooi hebben gemaakt en niet je supporters afschrikken door overal aan te knoeien. Het is leuk dat je op korte termijn meer geld binnenhaalt maar funest voor de lange termijn (klassiek voorbeeld is de 'pay tv' waardoor de kijkcijfers dalen). Nogmaals, over het champagnemerk zal ik niet wakker liggen maar de leiding hecht te weinig waarde aan traditie.

      En in de advieswereld kan ik een stuk meer verdienen dan nu als ambtenaar maar daarvoor bevalt mijn huidige baan te goed. ;-)
