FIA laat zich doorlichten door onafhankelijk bureau

De schandalen bij de FIFA (wereldvoetbalbond, red.) en de IAAF (internationale atletiekfederatie, red.) hebben ook een uitwerking op de internationale autosportbond FIA. Voorzitter Jean Todt verkondigde op de Autosport International Show dat de federatie een onafhankelijk onderzoeksbureau heeft ingeschakeld om de eigen organisatie tegen het licht te houden.

Op die manier kan de FIA bewijzen dat het transparant is en dat er geen sprake is van misstanden zoals bij de FIFA of de IAAF. Todt: "Jammer genoeg bevinden enkele globale sportorganisaties zich in het verdachtenbankje en dat is spijtig. Voel ik me op mijn gemak bij de manier waarop de FIA gestructureerd is? Jazeker, en ik ben trots op alle betrokkenen."

"Dat gezegd hebbende, als je perfectie nastreeft, kan het altijd beter. Ik heb een onafhankelijk onderzoeksbureau gevraagd om een kijkje te nemen naar onze organisatie. Mochten ze met adviezen of aanbevelingen komen om de FIA te verbeteren, dan neem ik die graag over. We zijn een transparante organisatie en op deze wijzen kijken we of we een volgende stap kunnen zetten."

    Ik denk dat het slim is. Ik denk ook dat de "krachten" in de FIA meer verdeeld zijn waardoor een corrupte dictatuur wat verder verwijderd is in vergelijking met de FIFA.

    Ach, net als in elke overkoepelende organisatie worden er altijd "spelletjes" gespeeld waardoor anderen altijd zullen denken en zeggen dat er corruptie is. Meestal zit er een kern van waarheid in.

    Grote vraag is altijd hoe onafhankelijk het bureau is dat wordt ingehuurd......immers, wiens brood men eet diens woord men spreekt. Ook dat is maar al te vaak de waarheid gebleken.

    Noem het wantrouwen, maar ik heb bij 'onafhankelijke' bureaus en commissies toch altijd een naar gevoel met betrekking tot die zogenaamde onafhankelijkheid

    Met andere woorden , ik laat nu na kijken in mijn ! opdracht, welke beerputten zouden kunnen boven drijven bij een officieel onderzoek.... zodat we die nu en naar de toekomst beter kunnen weg moffelen ;)

    Zoals al eerder opgemerkt in de reacties kunnen we 2 kanten op.

    1. Todt weet dat er iets mis is en doet dit min of meer met voorbedachte redenen.
    2. De FIA wil zijn transpirantie tonen t.o.v. de buitenwereld.

    Nu is de vraag of zij verplicht zijn aan de buitenwereld om dit te doen. Er hangt natuurlijk al sinds jaren een smet op de FIA. Balestre was niet vies van smerige zaken en ook Mosley is negatief in het nieuws gekomen door bedenkelijke praktijken.

    Jean Todt komt over als een discreet man, maar is natuurlijk in zijn Ferrari periode het toppunt van smeerlapperij geweest en heeft met Ferrari de Formule 1 wereld in begin jaren '00 aardig om zeep geholpen door het systematisch beinvloeden van uitslagen.

    Een oude vos kan misschien zijn haren verliezen, maar zijn streken zal hij blijven houden. We zitten niet te wachten op een eventuele beerput die open gaat. Maar, we zullen er wel rekening mee moeten houden.
