Het aftellen richting de eerste Grand Prix van 2016 is in volle gang. Nog 58 dagen te gaan voordat het nieuwe seizoen aftrapt in Australië. 58 is toevallig ook het aantal races op een rij dat het team van Mercedes in de punten is geëindigd. De laatste keer dat de Duitse renstal puntloos bleef was de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten uit 2012.
