Late komst Sauber C35 verontrust Ericsson niet

Het lijkt er momenteel op dat Sauber het enige team is dat niet de nieuwe auto afvaardigt naar de eerste testweek, van 22 tot en met 25 februari in Barcelona. De nieuwe C35 maakt pas bij de tweede test, van 1 tot en met 4 maart, voor het eerst zijn opwachting.

Dat zijn weinig hoopgevende berichten, maar coureur Marcus Ericsson raakt niet in paniek. In Teknikens Varld zegt hij: "We kunnen bij de eerste test nog nuttig werk verzetten door data te verzamelen over de banden, dingen uit te proberen voor de set-up en nieuwe onderdelen te testen. In het ideale scenario kan je vanaf de eerste testdag met de nieuwe auto aan de slag, maar daar kunnen we nu niks meer aan doen."

"Hopelijk kunnen Ferrari en Haas eventuele kinderziektes met de nieuwe krachtbron oplossen, zodat we in week twee vol aan de bak kunnen. Met de betrouwbaarheid van de Ferrari-motor zit het doorgaans wel snor, dus ik maak me geen zorgen."

Hij moet sowieso nog afwachten of hij voor de eerste race niet moet plaatsmaken voor een paydriver met nog meer geld ;-)
