Ecclestone steunt coureurs voor betere banden

Bernie Ecclestone heeft zich achter de Formule 1-coureurs geschaard in hun pleidooi voor banden waarmee ze kunnen aanvallen. De commerciële baas van de sport heeft bandenleverancier Pirelli hier reeds van op de hoogte gebracht. Dat verklaarde Ecclestone aan BBC Sport.

"De meeste coureurs willen andere banden, omdat ze met de huidige banden nauwelijks kunnen pushen. Ik ben het een miljoen procent eens met de rijders", begint de Brit. "Dat heb ik Pirelli ook al laten weten. Zij leveren de banden voor de Formule 1, daar moeten we het mee doen. Het is aan de teams, coureurs en Pirelli om samen de banden te perfectioneren."

Begin volgende week staat een bijeenkomst in het hoofdkwartier van Pirelli in Milaan op het programma. De coureurs zijn uitgenodigd om daar hun zegje te doen. Ecclestone: "Elke rijder die daarbij aanwezig wil zijn is welkom. De president van Pirelli zal acte de présence geven, niet zomaar een boodschapper."

Wat een complete volledige bullshit!! De FIA/Eikelsteen hebben de eisen bij Pirelli ingedient waar de banden aan moesten voldoen. Nu doet die gnoom het ineens overkomen alsof Pirelli het niet kan of niet voor elkaar heeft. Die doen verdomme precies waar ze om gevraagd zijn!

    Nou, kom op met z'n allen dan, op de barricaden en zeg wat je wilt (oproep aan de coureurs dan he!).
    Ik ben zeer benieuwd wie daar gebruik van gaat maken, het zal wel een storm in een glas water zijn vrees ik.....

    Ik ben het er 100% mee eens dat ze andere banden moeten krijgen waarmee ze inderdaad beter kunnen pushen. Maar dan moet je Pirelli daar gewoon om vragen en niet nu Pirelli gaan afzeiken.

      Was ook mijn eerste gedachte. Ongelooflijk wat ie nu weer roept. Ben benieuwd wat voor spel die ouwe nu weer speelt. Hij doet namelijk nooit iets zonder reden.

      Zo interpreteer ik dit bericht juist niet, hij zegt Pirelli te hebben laten weten dat het nu anders moet dan hiervoor. In mijn ogen zegt hij nergens dat Pirelli geen fatsoenlijke band kan leveren.

    hopelijk gebeurd er nou eens een keer iets.
    wordt tijd dat ze banden maken waarmee aangevallen kan worden, maakt mij dan niet uit of dat ten koste gaat van het aantal pitstops die ze maken. toen ze nog met bridgestone reden konden ze veel langer mee maar konden ze ook meer risico's nemen.
    voer dan het bijtanken weer in want dan krijg je weer meer verschillende strategieën.
    voor diegene die vinden dat bijtanken de kosten voor de teams omhoog drijft door het gebruik van een installatie, er zijn tanks die compleet los staan van een installatie. kijk maar naar de nascar bijvoorbeeld.

      Kunnen ze niet gewoon de banden heel sterk maken, en maximaal 1 verplichte bij tankstop invoeren? Dan pusht iedereen tenminste continu, is de tactiek nog enigszins flexibel en heb je hopelijk actie?

      niet helemaal mee eens.
      wanneer ze mogen bijtanken gaan ze allemaal met verschillende hoeveelheden branstof rijden en kan de een er voor kiezen om meer brandstof per rondje te verbruiken dan een ander(als de fuelflow en maximale hoeveelheid brandstof per race wordt afgeschaft). nadeel is wel dat inhalen weer waarschijnlijk te makkelijk wordt aangezien je met een lege tank natuurlijk sneller gaat dan iemand met een half volle tank.

      Wat jij voorstelt met het bijtanken, hebben we een aantal jaar geleden gehad.
      Dit resulteerde vaak juist in nog onoverzichtelijke situaties, en veelal dus puur tactische races tot gevolg. En uiteindelijk bracht het niets verrassends, want de topteams hanteerden vaak dezelfde strategie. De kleinere teams speelden ook met bijtanken geen rol van betekenis.
      Bovendien is het bijtanken wederom van de baan geschoven, dus heeft het niet zoveel zin om er over door te gaan.
