Hengelt McLaren nieuwe hoofdsponsor binnen?

McLaren heeft mogelijk een grote nieuwe sponsor aan de haak geslagen. Stoffel Vandoorne verscheen bij de recente regenbandentest op Paul Ricard met een overall met een groot zwart vlak op de borst. Voor Marca de aanleiding om te denken dat McLaren een hoofdsponsor gevonden heeft.

Het team van McLaren doet het sinds het vertrek van Vodafone eind 2013 al zonder grote sponsor. Nu zou eindelijk een nieuwe partij zich aan de Britse renstal hebben verbonden. In het witte shirt dat Jenson Button aanheeft in zijn nieuwste reclame ziet Marca een tweede aanwijzing. Het shirt bevat namelijk meer zwart dan vorig jaar. Dat zou duiden op een verandering van de livery.

Ondertussen zijn de trucks van McLaren-Honda gesignaleerd in Barcelona, mogelijk voor een filmdag op het circuit aldaar. Het team presenteert de bolide voor 2016 overigens pas over drie weken, op 21 februari om precies te zijn.

    Sony wordt meteen genoemd op diverse fora. Maar daar twijfel ik persoonlijk aan. Sponsoring in de racerij is niet iets dat Sony op grote schaal ooit gedaan heeft.

      Sony gaan al jaren geruchten over dat ze de F1 in stappen als sponsor, ben benieuwd want volgens mij zijn de resultaten van Sony niet overweldigend. Daarnaast werken ze de laatste jaren vooral samen met Nissan (via Polyphony Digital) wat weer verbonden is aan Renault.

      PlayStation is sinds jaar en dag inmiddels aan Le Mans verbonden. Maar Sony als hoofdmerk heb je niet ergens in een campagne van meerdere jaren groot geadverteerd zien staan in de racerij. En het gaat juist om Sony en niet om een submerk daarvan.

      Bovendien wat hier onder al aangegeven wordt zal het waarschijnlijk chandon zijn. Wat wel weer vreemd is aangezien zij een Formule 1 sponsor worden door Mumm te gaan vervangen. Ik geloof dat dit contractueel met de FOM niet mag. Een Formule 1 sponsor (denk aan DHL, UBS, Emirates of Rolex) mag niet tegelijkertijd verbonden zijn aan een team.

    Uit betrouwbare bron heb ik vernomen dat "Luikse Wafels" met het oog op 2017 die grote nieuwe sponsor wordt. Is dit een goed voortekenen voor Stoffel?

    Volgens mij is het gewoon Chandon die ze al aangekondigd hebben als sub-sponsor. Alleen mag je in Frankrijk geen drank sponsoring tonen. Dus vandaar dat op de zijkant van de auto tijdens de test in Paul Ricard ook de 'maan' en 7 sterren staan die refereren naar Chandon. En google op Mclaren + Chandon bij afbeeldingen en dan zie je gelijk Button met een zwart vlak op zijn overal met daarin de naam Chandon.

      Scherp! Lijkt mij idd ook het geval. Als ze het hebben over Stoffel met een zwart vlak precies op de plek waar bij Button Chandon staat. Lekkere riool journalistiek van Marca.

    Dat zogenaamde grote zwarte vlak op Vandoorne's overall was gewoon reclame van Chandon. In Frankrijk mag er namelijk geen reclame gemaakt worden voor alcohol. Vandaar dus een zwart vlak met het maantje en de sterretjes, net zoals op de wagen ipv de naam.
