Williams: "Dit jaar zien we waar Lynn echt staat"

Alex Lynn heeft een wisselvallig 2015 achter de rug. Zo beoordeelt Claire Williams zijn jaar ook. Lynn was testrijder bij het team van Williams en combineerde dat met racen in de GP2. Bij zijn werkzaamheden voor Williams ging het boven verwachting goed, in de GP2 lieten zijn resultaten soms te wensen over. 2016 is dan ook een belangrijk jaar voor hem.

Claire Williams vertelde aan Autosport: "Wat betreft hetgeen we van Alex verlangden, heeft hij onze verwachtingen overtroffen. Lynn is een complex karakter, hij denkt veel na over wat hij doet. Hij stort zich nergens zomaar in, alles is weloverwogen. Of het nou in de simulator was of op de composites-afdeling, bij alles wat hij heeft gedaan, is hij zichzelf ontstegen. De mate van volwassenheid op zijn leeftijd is ronduit indrukwekkend."

"In de GP2 ging het op en neer met hem. Op bepaalde momenten was hij geweldig, maar andere momenten waren weer teleurstellend. Maar we mogen niet vergeten dat het zijn debuutseizoen betrof. De GP2 is een zware serie voor jonge talenten en kan je soms verblinden voor de ware performance van iemand. In 2016 zullen we zien waar Alex echt staat als coureur."
