Mallya: "Mazepin nu al zeer capabele racer"

Force India baarde eerder deze week opzien met het vastleggen van een 16-jarige Rus. De Indiase renstal gaat de jonge Nikita Mazepin klaarstomen voor een toekomst in de Formule 1. Force India-teambaas Vijay Mallya: "Dit is een fantastische mogelijkheid voor Nikita om zijn leerschool voor de Formule 1 te beginnen en om zich te nestelen binnen ons team."

Hij vervolgt: "We hebben een aardige reputatie wat betreft het identificeren en opleiden van jong talent. Nikita is nu al een zeer capabele en vastberaden racer. In 2016 krijgt hij de kans om zijn capaciteiten tentoon te spreiden en de kwaliteiten te ontwikkelen die nodig zijn voor een toekomst als Formule 1-coureur. Hij zal uitvoerig aan de bak komen in onze simulator en hij ondersteunt ook ons testprogramma voor de ontwikkeling van de VJM09."

"Gezien het succes van de Russische Grand Prix is het opwindend om de handen ineen te slaan met een jonge coureur uit Rusland. Het is een markt met een enorm potentieel en een voedingsbodem voor grote talenten als Nikita. Dat zal zorgen voor toenemende belangstelling in het land."

    in 2015 reed hij 43 races, waarbij hij 1 podium had in de FR2.0 NEC en 1 podium in de MRF Challenge - Formula 2000

    Lijkt me een prima zaak. Deze jongen kan ervaring opdoen en Force India heeft weer een pak met geld binnen. Heeft volgens mij niemand last van .Prima toch:)

      Daar is ook niets mis mee Insure, maar het is feitelijk gewoon weer een paydriver, ala Maldonado. Hij is vooral interessant vanwege de Russiche olie dollars, niet zo zeer om zijn exceptioneel talent.

      Ik vrees dat niet iedereen je mening deelt Insure.
      Ik in elk geval niet.
      Wat is er nu goed aan lege F1 stoeltjes die ingenomen worden door piloten die het niet van hun rijderskwaliteiten moeten maar die daar enkel en alleen belanden door de zak geld die ze meebrengen?
      Welke fan zit daar nu op te wachten?
      En de autosport moet het toch hebben van de fans en niet van wankelende teams die zo financieel in de shit zitten dat ze het op deze manier moeten doen om te overleven.
