Prost: "Titels geen verplichting voor Renault F1"

Renault heeft met het eigen fabrieksteam in de Formule 1 de ambitie om de wereldtitel te winnen, maar het is geen ramp als dat niet gebeurt. Dat stelt Renault-ambassadeur en oud-coureur Alain Prost. Het Franse merk staart zich niet blind op resultaten en successen.

Prost verkondigde aan Auto Motor und Sport: "Kampioen worden is geen verplichting voor Renault. Op een gegeven moment moeten we in staat zijn om een gooi te doen naar het kampioenschap zodat mensen van over de wereld Renault als topteam beschouwen. Maar voor merken als Mercedes of Audi is het veel belangrijker om te winnen. Voor Renault zou de wereldtitel een mooie bonus zijn."
