Jordan King mikt voor 2017 op stoeltje in de F1

Jordan King racet komend seizoen net als vorig jaar voor Racing Engineering in de GP2. Een toekomst in de Formule 1 gloort aan de horizon, mits de Brit goede resultaten laat noteren in het voorportaal van de koningsklasse van de autosport. Hij sloot 2015 af op een twaalfde plek in de eindstand.

Een tweede plaats in de sprintrace in België vormde het hoogtepunt van het jaar voor hem. Planeta Deporte citeert King: "In de GP2 beschikt iedereen over hetzelfde chassis, dezelfde motor en dezelfde banden. Je kunt je als coureur nog echt onderscheiden."

"In de Formule 1 is het zo dat je nog zo goed kunt zijn, maar als je geen competitief pakket hebt kom je nergens. Het doel is wel om volgend jaar in de Formule 1 actief te zijn. Maar ik focus me eerst op de GP2, daarin zal ik het dit seizoen moeten laten zien."
