Horlogemerk Richard Mille sponsor van McLaren

Het team van McLaren heeft een opvolger voor TAG Heuer als 'Timing Partner' gestrikt. Horlogemerk Richard Mille heeft zich voor tien jaar als sponsor aan de Britse renstal verbonden. Richard Mille is geen onbekende van de Formule 1, de firma steunde eerder Lotus F1 Team.

McLaren-baas Ron Dennis: "Ik heb met bewondering gekeken naar hoe Richard Mille zijn merk in vijftien jaar vanaf de grond op heeft gebouwd. Dat ze in zo'n kort tijdsbestek een plekje in de top van deze branche verworven hebben is een ongelooflijke prestatie en een teken van zijn visie en toewijding."

"Dat Richard Mille een tienjarig contract met McLaren aan is gegaan, toont onze gedeelde voorkeur voor langdurige overeenkomsten en de voordelen die we kunnen putten uit het samen groeien. Onze beide bedrijven kenmerken zich door een passie voor ontwerp, technologie en uiterlijk. Ik ben opgewonden over een geweldige samenwerking voor de komende tien jaar."

      Je krijgt er extra batterijen bij voor het geval dat de horloge "net als de Honda" stil valt, klapstoeltje inbegrepen.

    @z0mer: de meeste persberichten zowel over coureurs als sponsoren komen gewoon uit dezelfde kopieermachine: "het is ons een eer samen te werken met [hier naam invullen]". "We verwelkomen [hier naam invullen] in ons team." "we hebben dezelfde kernwaarden als [hier naam invullen]. Bij coureurs is het eigenlijk nog erger, vooral bij de rijke klunzen in de opstapklassen, die allemaal heel enthousiast moeten zeggen hoe leuk het wel niet is om achteraan mee te knetteren bij een kansloos team dat dankzij hun dollars nog een jaar kan overleven.

    Waar F1 vroeger veel gesponsord werd door sigarettenfabrikanten, nu zijn het de horloges? Tag, Casio en Richard Mille.

    In beide gevallen hebben ze weinig aan mij. Ik rook niet en vind het vreselijk iets om mijn polsen te hangen... Een energiedrankje drink ik dan wel eens op zijn tijd maar als een van de betere koffiemerken een favoriet team zou gaan sponsoren dan zou dat echt impact hebben op mijn koopgedrag.

      door de livery van Mclaren viel dat amper op dan, want ik wist niet dat die nog steeds sponsorden

      Segafredo Zanetti stond ook op de Williams waarmee Senna de muur in ging. Na het avontuur met Williams is McLaren volgens mij het eerste team die ze weer sponsoren sinds een paar jaar.
