Gutierrez blij met racesimulatie

Het debuterende Haas F1-team kende een bemoedigende start tijdens de eerste wintertest in Barcelona. De Amerikaanse renstal kende wat problemen, maar wist desondanks veel ronden te rijden. Coureur Esteban Guiterrez is tevreden met de racesimulatie die hij op de laatste dag wist te rijden.

Guiterrez over de racesimulatie en progressie van zijn team: "Het ging goed. Het is goed om een volledige raceafstand te kunnen rijden en weer op de limiet te kunnen rijden met een Formule 1-auto. Alleen op deze manier komen we er achter hoe betrouwbaar we zijn. De data die we hebben verzameld is echt nuttig voor het team."

Guiterrez geeft wel aan dat hij op meer ronden had gehoopt, maar dat hij ook realistisch is: "Als nieuw team konden we dit verwachten. We hebben wat kleine problemen gehad, maar het zijn geen grote dingen. Ik heb er vertrouwen in dat we in de tweede testweek beter voor dag kunnen komen en kunnen testen waar deze auto toe in staat is."
