Banden eerste vier Grand Prix bekend, ultrasoft maakt debuut in Canada

Pirelli heeft de types banden die tijdens de eerste vier Grand Prix van het Formule 1-seizoen 2016 gebruikt mogen worden, bekend gemaakt. De ultrazachte band maakt een debuut tijdens de Grand Prix van Canada in juni. De banden mogen gebruikt worden in de derde sessie van de kwalificatie.

Pirelli moet volgens de nieuwe reglementen veertien weken voor de overzeese races doorgeven welke compounds er gebruikt worden. Voor de eerste vier wedstrijden stond de keuze al vast, Monaco en Spanje moeten nog bekend gemaakt worden.

De Italiaanse formatie liet eerder al weten welke banden worden meegenomen naar de eerste vier Grands Prix van het seizoen. Volgens de nieuwe reglementen moet de bandenfabrikant veertien weken voor de overzeese wedstrijden al doorgeven welke compounds worden gebruikt. Pirelli moet alleen nog bekendmaken welke rubbers worden meegenomen naar de Grand Prix van Spanje en Monaco.

In 2016 heeft iedere coureur dertien setjes droogweerbanden tot zijn beschikking. Pirelli maakt de keuze welke compounds voor de race gebruikt mogen worden. De ultrazachte band mag alleen tijdens de derde sessie van de kwalificatie gebruikt worden en de coureur heeft hiervan een setje tot zijn beschikking.

Bij de eerste vier Grand Prix van het seizoen zijn de supersoft, soft en medium compound de banden die gebruikt mogen worden. Voor de Grand Prix van Canada gaat het om de ultrasoft, supersoft en soft compound.

  Beter even het artikel goed lezen en dan conclusie trekken.
  Ik (met een IQ van Bonnie St Clair) kan soms ook niet geloven dat iets zo geplaatst wordt.

Daar in zit de fout eigenlijk. Je moet de ultrasoft verplichten voor de race. Dan moeten rijders sowieso 2 keer een pitstop maken en je krijgt spectaculaire eindfases. Het heeft dan nut om een paar ronde voor het einde nog een keer een pitstop te doen.
