Lynn door als ontwikkelingscoureur bij Williams

Het team van Williams heeft het contract van ontwikkelingscoureur Alex Lynn verlengd. De 22-jarige Brit stond vorig jaar al in dienst van de Britse renstal en bestuurde de FW37 tijdens de test tijdens het seizoen op het Circuit de Catalunya nabij Barcelona. Hij combineert zijn werkzaamheden voor Williams ook dit seizoen met racen in de GP2.

Lynn wil in het voorportaal voor de Formule 1 dit jaar voor de titel gaan. "Ik ben verguld dat ik bij Williams mag blijven en mijn werk als ontwikkelingscoureur voort kan zetten. Ik ben dankbaar voor de aanhoudende steun van het team. Ik koester de mogelijkheid om voort te borduren op vorig jaar en om bij te dragen aan de ontwikkeling van de auto."

"Daarmee vergaar ik tevens kennis over de gang van zaken binnen het team van Williams en over de techniek die schuil gaat in een Formule 1-wagen. De focus ligt voor mij dit jaar echter op het winnen van de GP2-titel, dat ga ik in elk geval proberen. Ik ben vastberaden om te bewijzen dat ik het verdien om in de toekomst de sprong naar de Formule 1 te wagen."
