King blijft aan als ontwikkelingsrijder bij Manor

Manor Racing heeft de verbintenis van ontwikkelingscoureur Jordan King verlengd. De 22-jarige Brit zal dit jaar een ondersteunende rol vertolken voor racers Pascal Wehrlein en Rio Haryanto. Hij combineert zijn werkzaamheden voor Manor met racen in de GP2 voor Racing Engineering.

King: "Vorig jaar heb ik veel tijd op de circuits doorgebracht met het team en dat is belangrijk voor mij en waar ik naartoe wil. Ik heb veel geleerd over de processen en techniek die bij het werken in de Formule 1 komen kijken. Daarnaast heb ik veel opgestoken over de werking van de banden en de data."

"Daardoor blaakte ik van het zelfvertrouwen toen ik in december de kans kreeg om de MR03B aan de tand te voelen in Abu Dhabi. Ik heb 300 kilometer getest en ik genoot van elke seconde in de auto. Ik heb mijn zinnen gezet op een toekomstig racestoeltje in de Formule 1 en ik kijk ernaar uit om mijn progressie dit jaar voort te zetten."
