COTA bevestigt doorgaan van Grand Prix van VS

Het Circuit of the Americas nabij Austin heeft middels een persbericht en een persconferentie bevestigd dat het vraagteken dat nog achter de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten voor dit jaar stond weg is. Het evenement gaat gewoon door in het weekend van 23 oktober. Daarnaast strikte de organisatie zangeres Taylor Swift voor een optreden na de kwalificatie op zaterdag 22 oktober.

COTA-voorzitter Bobby Epstein: "Het is met veel plezier dat we kunnen aankondigen dat de Formule 1 gewoon terugkeert naar Austin, zoals we ook blij zijn met het concert dat Taylor Swift komt verzorgen. We kunnen geen betere manier bedenken om het vijfjarig bestaan van ons evenement te markeren. Sinds onze eerste race in 2012 hebben we veel kennis en inzicht opgedaan en daarmee hebben we jaarlijks ons evenement weten te verbeteren. We hebben er alle vertrouwen in dat de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten uitgroeit tot een vaste waarde op de Formule 1-kalender."
