Haas legt Ferrucci vast als ontwikkelingscoureur

Haas F1 Team heeft een jong Amerikaans talent gecontracteerd als ontwikkelingscoureur. De 17-jarige Santino Ferrucci heeft zich aan de nieuwe Amerikaanse renstal verbonden. Hij zal wedstrijden bijwonen en in de simulator de nodige werkzaamheden voor Haas F1 verrichten.

Dat combineert hij met racen in de GP3 voor DAMS. Ferrucci: "Sinds ik ben begonnen met racen is het al mijn doel om uit te groeien tot Formule 1-coureur. Dat ik als Amerikaan onderdeel uitmaak van een Amerikaans team vervult me met enorm veel trots. Ik heb nog een heel lange weg voor de boeg, maar de connectie met Haas F1 stelt me in staat om veel te leren en in een sneller tempo dingen op te steken. Daardoor is het de ultieme voorbereiding op een toekomst in de Formule 1."

      Dat is toch ook wat je als team wilt. Gezonde concurrentie die elkaar naar voren duwen en elkaar scherp houden. Of ben ik nou gek?

    Een complete nobody met de juiste nationaliteit, een Amerikaans team zonder enige connectie naar Amerika was ook bijna niet voor te stellen. Nog even en we zien amerikaanse vlaggen op de auto.

    Waarschijnlijk een hele goedkope kracht, of brengt sponsorgeld mee want van zijn talent moet ie het niet hebben. Bijwonen van wedstrijden is heel leerzaam, kan beter veel rijden.

      @Maximo. Zijn start als jongste deelnemer van het veld tijdens het weekend in Spa was best goed. Helaas is er daarna geen enkele progressie geweest. Ook afgelopen jaar slechts 1 keer een podium uit 33 races.

      Voor ontwikkelingscoureur hoef je gelukkig alleen marketing technisch interessant te zijn. Talent doet er niet toe.

      Het schijnt dat je tegenwoordig als ontwikkelingscoureur ook filmpjes moet kunnen ontwikkelen. Een vaardigheid waar ene mevrouw Jorda voor is gezakt. ;-)
