McLaren omgeven door vraagtekens in Australië

Het team van McLaren heeft een paar dagen voordat het eerste Grand Prix-weekend van het nieuwe seizoen aanvangt geen flauw benul waar het staat. De Britse renstal reed vierhonderd ronden meer dan vorig jaar tijdens de tests, maar toch slaagden ze er niet om het volledige programma af te werken. Bovendien kwamen enkele updates voor de MP4-31 te laat om nog uit te proberen

Racing director Eric Boullier: "We hebben niet al het geplande werk aan de set-up kunnen doen of met de definitieve configuratie van de auto kunnen testen, dus we tasten een beetje in het duister over onze vorm. De start van het weekend wordt voor ons dan ook niet makkelijk, omdat we de wagen nog voor elke sessie af moeten stellen en de nieuwe specificatie van ons pakket af moeten stemmen op het circuit van Albert Park."

"Sinds de laatste wintertests is in Woking keihard gewerkt om nieuwe onderdelen te introduceren in Australië. Het is goed dat we er vrijdag de baan mee op kunnen en we zijn benieuwd hoe het ons vergaat. We staan er zeker beter voor dan een jaar geleden na de voorbereiding. We hebben meer kilometers gemaakt en de meeste systeemcontroles uitgevoerd die we in 2015 nog tijdens de Grand Prix-weekenden moesten verrichten."

    Ja veel beter, nu viel de auto van Alonso pas op dag 2 na een rondje fataal stil.

    Aie ! het zal weer moeizaam wezen het eerste seizoenshelft vrees ik, Ben zelf Alonso Fan en zou niet in zijn vel willen zijn, maar wel zijn bankrekening hebben ;-)
