Geplaagde Mallya mijdt Grand Prix van Australië

Force India-teambaas Vijay Mallya is niet naar Australië afgereisd voor het eerste Formule 1-weekend van dit jaar. Dat deelde Bob Fernley, vice-teambaas bij de Indiase renstal, aan de Daily Mail mede. Mallya wordt in eigen land gezocht vanwege niet terugbetaalde leningen.

Voor vrijdag staat een hoorzitting gepland in een zaak die tegen de Indiase zakenman is aangespannen. Zeventien banken hebben nog geld van hem tegoed na het debacle met zijn vliegmaatschappij Kingfisher Airlines, die failliet gegaan is.

Reuters bericht dat de autoriteiten Mallya opgeroepen hebben om vrijdag bij die zitting aanwezig te zijn. Dat is ook de dag van de eerste vrije trainingen in Melbourne. Fernley: "Het is altijd de positie van Vijay geweest om te gehoorzamen aan het juridische proces dat in India gaande is."

    Ben benieuwd wat Mol gaat doen met zijn 15% van de FI-aandelen. Sahara en VJ bezitten beiden 42,5%. De één zit al geruime tijd in de cel en Vijay mag hopen dat hij celstraf kan blijven ontlopen. Luchtkastelen bouwen met geleend geld en cross holdings, hoop dat het bij Force India geen Genii/Lotus situatie wordt..

    Force India moet gewoon zo snel mogelijk verkocht worden aan een stabiele investeerder of aan een grote fabrikant. Jammer dat Aston Martin niet doorging deze winter.

    Geplaagd is wel een heel lieve manier om te zeggen dat hij aangeklaagd is voor fraude.

    Zo schijnt VW ook "geplaagd" te worden door de consequenties van hun eigen sjoemel software.

    Misschien een woord om te gebruiken voor grote vissen.

      Ik zeg ook niet dat ik medelijden heb met de banken. Verzekeringsmaatschappijen, banken en de tabaksindustrie... Daar zou ik nooit willen werken. En in die volgorde.
