GPDA schrijft open brief aan Formule 1-leiders

De Grand Prix Drivers' Association heeft een open brief samengesteld voor de leidinggevenden in de Formule 1. De coureurs verzameld in de rijdersvakbond uiten in het schrijven hun ongenoegen over de bestuurlijke wanorde en het gehannes met de reglementen. Ze doen een dringend beroep op degenen die het voor het zeggen hebben om zorgvuldiger te werk te gaan.

In de brief van de GPDA staat onder meer: "De Formule 1 staat momenteel onder druk door de moeilijke globale economische situatie en de veranderingen in het medialandschap. Daardoor is het des te meer urgent om slimme en weloverwogen aanpassingen door te voeren. Wij hebben het gevoel dat enkele recente regelwijzigingen, zowel op technisch als op sportief vlak, de grote problemen in de sport niet adresseren en de toekomst in gevaar brengen."

"We beseffen dat elk individu denkt in het belang van de Formule 1 te handelen. Wij als coureurs trekken dan ook de conclusie dat het besluitvormingsproces verouderd en verziekt is. Dit heeft een negatief effect op onze sport. We verzoeken de leidinggevenden dan ook om de manier van besturen te herstructureren. Beslissingen over de korte of lange termijn dienen ingegeven te zijn door een overkoepelend masterplan, gebaseerd op de kernwaarden van de Formule 1."

"Het is belangrijk om te benadrukken dat deze brief in het belang van iedereen is bedoeld en niet gezien moet worden als een blinde en respectloze aanval op de huidige leiding van de Formule 1. We zijn dankbaar voor de aandacht en de vrijheid om onze woorden op papier te zetten." De brief is ondertekend door GPDA-voorzitter Alexander Wurz en directeuren Jenson Button en Sebastian Vettel.

Ik zou graag openbaar zien wat de rijders willen veranderen, en wat het gevolg zal zijn als de GPDA genegeerd gaat worden.

  Ik snap dat het niet serieus bedoeld is, maar de grap gaat niet eens door omdat Max een van de weinige coureurs is die niet bij de GPDA zit, en dit dus niet ondertekend heeft :p

Wat denk ze nou. Wat denk je dat er gebeurt was als coureurs/voetballers etc. het voor het zeggen krijgen??? Ze moeten blij wezen dat de heren de sport zo groot gemaakt hebben. Dat is echt niet zo vanzelfsprekend als iedereen hier waarschijnlijk denkt!!
