Newey besteedt niet meer tijd aan de Formule 1

Red Bull-ontwerper Adrian Newey verdeelt zijn tijd dit jaar evenredig tussen de Formule 1 en zijn overige activiteiten. Net als in 2015 besteedt de Brit 50 procent van zijn tijd aan de koningsklasse van de autosport. De rest van zijn tijd is bestemd voor andere projecten.

Red Bull Racing-teambaas Christian Horner: "We hebben het werk waarvoor we ingehuurd waren afgerond, dus het America's Cup-project is nu klaar voor ons. We hebben een product afgeleverd en hopelijk helpt dat het team van Ben Ainslie aan de zege."

"Adrian heeft de komende twee jaar nog genoeg op zijn bordje, zoals het project met Aston Martin. Daarna zien we wel weer. Hij verdeelt zijn tijd hetzelfde als vorig jaar; 50 procent Formule 1 en 50 procent de rest. Binnenkort zal hij zich op de reglementen voor 2017 storten, nu die min of meer vast staan."

      Ik zou wel eens willen weten hoeveel uren hij dan in een week werkt, daar kan men beter uit opmaken hoeveel tijd hij aan de F1 besteed.

      dan moet ik het ook gemist hebben, ik hoop dat er zsm eens wat zaken in de media verschijnen over de wagens van volgend jaar (en natuurlijk het goede nieuws dat de halo definitief van de baan is)

      Ik lees het meer in de trant van "Newey wacht met het F1 project totdat de regelementen daadwerkelijk vastliggen omdat hij geen zin heeft om zijn tijd en energie te verdoen aan het politiek gekonkel ".
