Rubens Barrichello: "Force India is nog binnen handbereik"

2010 is tot nu toe niet het jaar van Williams en Rubens Barrichello. De Braziliaan gaf voor het seizoen aan altijd van uitkomen voor Williams gedroomd te hebben, maar vooralsnog is de samenwerking geen succes. Barrichello scoorde pas zeven punten.

Toch houdt hij hoop op beterschap, met behulp van een goede F-duct en een nieuw uitlatensysteem. Force India is nog binnen handbereik, begint Barrichello. Renault is een ander verhaal. Robert Kubica rijdt goed en levert veel goede resultaten. Maar ik denk dat we minstens Force India nog in kunnen halen. Een goed werkende F-duct is al een grote stap en een achterkant van de auto die geeft wat je nodig hebt, dat is ook al gauw een halve seconde waard. En dat is een grote stap in de Formule 1.

In langzame bochten hebben we een gebrek aan grip aan de achterkant van de wagen. Ook tractie komen we tekort, dat probleem hangt ook samen met de langzame bochten. Het is iets mechanisch en iets aerodynamisch. Het team werkt er hard aan. Daarbij komt een klein probleem met de rijbaarheid van de motor en op sommige vlakken te weinig kracht. Al die kleine dingen bij elkaar opgeteld zorgen voor een achterstand van negen tienden.

Voor Valencia is het doel in eerste instantie om Q3 te halen. Acht auto's zijn elke Grand Prix min of meer zeker van de top tien en daar voegt zich steeds ook een Renault en een Force India bij. Het is zaak aan ons om dat te doorbreken. De vernieuwingen die we in Canada hadden zouden hier beter moeten werken, dus ik ben vrij hoopvol.

renault is inderdaad niet meer te halen en ik verwacht dat het ook niet makkelijk gaat worden om force india in te halen(zij worden namelijk ook steeds beter met het doorontwikkelen van de auto).
Dus Rubens we zullen het zien!
