Ecclestone in gesprek met Las Vegas over F1-race

Bernie Ecclestone heeft zijn woorden over een Formule 1-contract voor Las Vegas ingeslikt, maar de Brit staat wel in contact met de Amerikaanse gokstad over een mogelijke Grand Prix. Dat liet de commerciële baas van de koningsklasse weten in Bahrein.

"Nee", antwoordde Ecclestone op de vraag of Las Vegas definitief terugkeert op de Formule 1-kalender. "Ik praat vandaag weer met ze. Het is mogelijk dat ze in de nabije toekomst weer een evenement gaan organiseren. Ze gaan sowieso al een Formule E-race huisvesten."

Het is niet ter vervanging van Austin. Ecclestone: "We houden Austin en daar komt dan een extra race in de Verenigde Staten bij." Las Vegas was in 1981 en 1982 al gastheer voor een Grand Prix, waarbij de parkeerplaats voor Ceasers Palace de locatie vormde.

    Zoals ik al eerder zij zou ik Vegas op de kalender heel mooi vinden, behalve als ze het weer op een parkeerplaats doen. Zou het geweldig vinden als ze iets kunnen doen in het donker tussen de Casino's.

    ik blijf het toch vreemd vinden. Veel circuits zoals Zandvoort of zolder ik noem maar wat zijn niet f1 waardig als op veiligheid aankomt nu zijn de locaties ook niet zo interessant Maar wat ik bedoel, veiligheid straten circuits zoals Monaco Singapore zijn alles behalve veilig? Ze spotten met veiligheids- normen in vergelijking met de normale circuits. Waarom ze dit soort locaties dan toch op de kalender willen? het zijn zeker mooi beelden
    de kans op een ongeluk met ernsitge afloop is op een straten circuit nou eenmaal groter.

    zou graag wat meningen van jullie willen horen: ps min excuus voor eventuele grammatica fouten en zinsvormingen..

      Stratencircuits zullen altijd onveiliger zijn dan permanente circuits, maar qua stratencircuits zijn de F1 circuits wel de meest veilige met uitzondering van Monaco.

    De grand prix van de V.S hoort gewoon in Indianapolis plaats te vinden imho.
    Daar hebben we toch ook wel mooie races gezien (en natuurlijk de 'race' met 6 auto's).
