Nieuwe neus FW38 stemt Massa tevreden

Williams zal de Grand Prix van Bahrein vanaf de vierde startrij starten. Felipe Massa mocht voor het eerst rijden met de nieuwe, korte neus op de FW38 en is daar tevreden mee. Teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas is ook tevreden en start achter zijn teamgenoot.

Williams liet de nieuwe neus vrijdagavond invliegen zodat er zaterdag mee getest kon worden. Massa reed er mee in de derde vrije training, maar men twijfelde of de nieuwe neus wel ingezet moest worden voor de rest van het weekend. Uiteindelijk besloot Williams er toch mee te gaan rijden. Felipe Massa is een tevreden man.

"Ten opzichte van Melbourne gaat het hier beter. Het was echter geen eenvoudige dag, omdat we niet meteen de juiste balans konden vinden met de nieuwe neus op de auto. Dat zorgde voor twijfel of we de nieuwe neus wel of niet moesten gaan inzetten voor de rest van het weekend. Uiteindelijk heeft de nieuwe neus ons een betere tijd gebracht, Mijn kwalificatie verliep naar wens en ik kijk uit naar de race. We zullen vechten met Red Bull en Toro Rosso en dat zal een pittige strijd worden", aldus Massa.

Teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas start achter zijn teamgenoot en is ook tevreden met zijn kwalificatie: "We hebben alles eruit gehaald. De nieuwe neus is een vooruitgang, zo blijkt uit de tijd van Felipe. Ik hoop er volgend weekend ook mijn voordeel mee te kunnen doen. Ons doel voor de race is een plekje in de top vijf, maar het gaat lastig worden om Ricciardo voor te blijven."

De hele balans van de auto verandert door de nieuwe neus. Williams heeft maar een uurtje gehad om de balans te verbeteren. Daardoor is Massa nu niet sneller dan Bottas.

Gelukkig. Nu maar hopen dat ie hem niet ergens insteekt waar hij niets te zoeken heeft. Want wie zijn neus schendt, schendt zijn aangezicht.

Bottas staat voor Massa en was sneller met de oude neus.Kortom de nieuwe neus heeft niets gebracht.Dit artikel klopt niet!

  Zonder die neus had hij dus nog verder naar achteren gestaan. Bottas haalt zijn neus op voor die nieuwe neus.

Schijnbaar heeft Massa na de kwalificatie geklaagd dat de nieuwe neus "te veel downforce" geeft, daar waar hij vorige GP nog klaagde dat de Williams "te weinig downforce" heeft. Heb langzaamaan toch een beetje het idee dat Felipe op zijn "cliff" is geraakt. Vooralsnog lijkt hij de betere t.o.v. Bottas, maar die is voor mijn gevoel toch iets te veel gehyped geweest.
