Coulthard laat bevolking Oman kennismaken met Formule 1

David Coulthard heeft de bevolking van Oman afgelopen vrijdag kennis laten maken met de Formule 1. De 13-voudig Grand Prix-winnaar en voormalig rijder van Red Bull Racing gaf de Red Bull RB7 de sporen in de straten van Muscat, de hoofdstad van Oman.

Op het evenement was veel publiek afgekomen. Autosport is nog niet heel populair in Oman, maar gezien de vele bezoekers en het enthousiasme van Coulthard zou dat wel eens kunnen veranderen. Coulthard over zijn demo en de toekomst van autosport in Oman: "Allereerst wil ik een compliment maken aan de bevolking hier. De mensen zijn zo gastvrij ! Ik hoop dat ik de mensen enthousiast heb kunnen maken en wil ze bedanken dat ze ondanks de regen toch met grote aantallen hier aanwezig waren. Ik hoop dat dit evenement de autosport een boost kan geven in dit land. Ze hebben nu alleen een kartbaan, maar dat kan natuurlijk veranderen in de toekomst."
