Williams schrijft zwarte cijfers in begroting 2015

Het team van Williams heeft vorig jaar een winst van 200.000 pond geboekt. Dat blijkt uit de jaarcijfers over 2015 die de Britse renstal gepresenteerd heeft. In 2014 leed het team nog een verlies van 31,5 miljoen pond. De inkomsten in de Formule 1 stegen van 70,2 miljoen pond naar 101,5 miljoen pond. De Williams Group als geheel ging van een verlies van 37 miljoen pond naar een verlies van 3,3 miljoen pond.

Williams-directeur Mike O'Driscoll: "Onze financiële resultaten over 2015 geven een enorme verbetering ten opzichte van 2014 weer, met toegenomen inkomsten en een verbeterde cash flow. De voorbije twee jaar hebben we de boel geherstructureerd en de progressie is navenant, zowel operationeel als financieel. We zijn erin geslaagd om de inkomsten en uitgaven naar elkaar toe te brengen, een hele prestatie."

"Ons Formule 1-team is twee jaar op een rij als derde bij de constructeurs geëindigd, wat een bewijs is van de duidelijke stap in sportieve competitiviteit die we gezet hebben. De commerciële inkomsten vanuit de sport worden pas in het volgende jaar uitgekeerd, dus deze cijfers zijn vooral het gevolg van onze derde plek uit 2014. Daarnaast staan we door onze goede prestaties sterker op de sponsormarkt."
