Marchionne getipt als nieuwe directeur Ferrari

Ferrari krijgt mogelijk op korte termijn een nieuwe directeur. Bloomberg bericht dat de huidige directeur Amedeo Felisa spoedig zijn pensioen aan zal kondigen. Vooraan in de rij om hem op te volgen staat een bekende naam, namelijk die van Sergio Marchionne.

Marchionne is reeds president bij Ferrari, een functie die hij combineert met het voorzitterschap bij Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, CNH en SGS, terwijl hij ook vice-voorzitter bij investeringsmaatschappij Exor en directeur bij Philip Morris is. De druk bezette Italiaan moet de koersdaling van het aandeel Ferrari een halt toeroepen. Sinds de beursgang in oktober heeft het aandeel al meer dan een derde aan waarde verloren.

Ferrari wilde niet reageren op de berichten dat Marchionne het van Felisa overneemt als directeur.

      Dit heeft niets met verdeeldheid te maken. Het is vrij normaal, zeker in de autoindustrie dat je verschillende posities bekleed. Vergeet verder ook niet dat hij niet alles alleen doet, en zijn werk vooral delegeert en vervolgens van bovenaf bekijkt of het allemaal goed gaat.

      Verder is CNH gewoon een afgeleide van FIAT (industriële voertuigen), net als Ferrari dit organisatie technisch natuurlijk is. Dat is ook hoe hij bij Ferrari gekomen is.

      Als directeur zou hij meer betrokken zijn bij het reilen en zeilen bij Ferrari en dus meer hands-on met het beleid bezig zijn. In de regel komen de mensen die in besturen en raden van verschillende organisaties zitten daar niet voor niets. Al zit er ook een hoop netwerken en vriendjespolitiek bij vaak, hebben we het in dit geval over iemand die zich binnen de zelfde organisatiegroep (FIAT) bewogen heeft. Dus het zou juist iemand kunnen zijn die ook wat het concreet maken van beleid betreft wordt gezien als een capabele man.

    Het wordt nog wel eens onderschat hoe belangrijk het voor Ferrari is om wedstrijden en kampioenschappen te winnen in de Koningsklasse van de motorsport.
    Dat het F1 team al jaren geen kampioen is geworden doet afbreuk aan het Merk Ferrari.
    Dit is een van de redene waarom Ferrari meer geld krijgt dan andere teams, ze hebben gewoon meer te verliezen als ze een tijdje niet winnen.
    Er is geen Honda klant die begint te twijfelen of z'n auto nog wel de top of the bill is als Honda niet wint, maar een Ferrari klant wordt er door zijn vrienden op gewezen dat Ferrari niet meer aan de top staat, terwijl ze strijden tegen teams die bij straat-auto's niet hun concurenten zijn. (McLaren uitgezonderd, maar die bouwen de motor niet en hebben het zelfde probleem)

      Een nog veel groter probleem is volgens mij dat Di Montezemolo Ferrari heel exclusief wilde houden, terwijl de nieuwe leiding Ferrari juist meer auto's wil laten produceren en daarmee afbreuk doet aan de exclusiviteit.

      Exact NEOR2, ik denk ook dat het hem daarin zit. Dat doet veel meer afbreuk in het merk Ferrari.

      Ik weet niet of dit waar is. Je zou daarvoor moeten kijken naar de resultaten in hun dominante jaren vs niet dominante jaren.

      Persoonlijk denk ik dat het onzin is. Het merk staat gewoon voor wat het is, en dit al decennia lang. Dat ze verslagen worden in de F1 maakt in dit verband weinig uit. Het gros van de mensen koopt geen Ferrari op basis van de F1 resultaten. Zou ook niet logisch zijn, aangezien het met elkaar niet zoveel te maken heeft. Het is vooral een pr ding. Ik denk dat het vooral te maken heeft met de waarde van het luxesegment en dat meer spelers zich daarin zijn gaan bewegen de laatste 10 jaar or so. Iedereen die het kan betalen koopt een Ferrari zo ongeveer. Dit terwijl je voor dat geld juist iets exclusiefs wil hebben. En dus is het de laatste jaren met veel meer rijke mensen op de planeet (nieuw-rijken, olie-baronnen, alles wat eraan gerelateerd is) minder bijzonder geworden om een Ferrari te hebben. Dit terwijl dit het voornaamste koopargument achter een Ferrari was. Slechts weinig mensen gaan er immers het circuit mee op oid. Het gaat om de exclusiviteit en de status, niets anders.

      En Ferrari is gewoon te groot geworden om exclusief te zijn.

    Niet zo gek waardedaling , noemen ze een 'correctie' ... Bekend prestigieus merk dus in eerste instantie overgewaardeerd.... Niks bijzonders...

    Di Montezemolo had soms krasse uitspraken, echter...hij maakte Ferrari weer succesvol. In de F1, in de verkoop, als meest krachtig merk alom.

    Onder zijn bewind ontpopte Ferrari zich als toptechnologisch bedrijf, wagens producerend mét goede bedrijfszekerheid én een hoge exclusiviteit.

    Onder Sergio verliest Ferrari zijn glans en exclusiviteit.

    Ik ben voorstander om Luca terug te brengen. Met zijn gebreken maar vooral met zijn vele strektes...

    Hier had Di Montezemolo een paar maanden geleden nog voor gewaarschuwd. Ik persoonlijk vond hem wel geschit voor wat hij deed. En vooral zijn ongezoute opmerkingen.
