Geboortedag van eerste Amerikaanse kampioen

Het is vandaag exact 89 jaar geleden dat Phil Hill ter wereld kwam. De in 2008 overleden Hill was de eerste Amerikaanse wereldkampioen Formule 1. Hij veroverde in 1961 de titel namens Ferrari. In totaal kwam de Amerikaan tot 48 Grands Prix, waarin hij zestien keer op het podium belandde, waarvan drie maal als winnaar. Phil Hill werd 81 jaar.

      Die andere Hill familie is Engels en veel uitgebreider.
      Opa Graham Hill, zoon Damon en kleinzoontje Josh Hill die 2 jaar geleden de helm aan de haak hing.
