Avondrace nog altijd een optie voor GP in Sotsji

De organisatie van de Grand Prix van Rusland denkt nog steeds na over het verplaatsen van de Formule 1-race naar de avonduren. Niet voor de editie van dit jaar natuurlijk, maar een avondrace behoort voor Sotsji zeker tot de mogelijkheden voor de toekomst.

Richard Cregan, een consultant voor het evenement op de Sochi Autodrom, verkondigde aan persbureau Tass: "De promotor van de Russische Grand Prix, de heer Sergey Vorobyev, heeft een avondrace nog altijd in overweging. Er is nog geen beslissing over genomen."

"Het idee is desalniettemin nog zeker relevant voor de Russen." De organisatie heeft echter zijn handen vol gehad aan de organisatie van de editie van dit jaar, onder daglicht. "Vergeet niet dat de vorige Grand Prix van Rusland slechts zes maanden geleden was", aldus Cregan.

    Ik vind sowieso alle avondraces helemaal niks. Er wordt veel gezeurd over de kunstmatigheid van F1, nou dit is er 1 van.

      Ja maar daarentegen is Singapore niet meer van de kalender weg te denken naar mijn mening. Hoewel de andere races totaal niet interessant zijn. Ook vraag ik me af wat de rede hiervoor is. Het is namelijk een beetje averechts op de visie van groen denken in de Formula 1 (wat ook bizar is, maar daar valt over te twisten).

      Het idee van we kunnen zondag middag rijden rond een uurtje of 4, maar dan de keuze maken om voor 3 steden aan licht langs de baan te zetten is wel logisch. Trotse Nederlanders zeuren veel denk ik.

    Ik ben wel een voorstander, laat de race maar lekker in de avond plaats vinden. Geeft gave beelden en het zorgt ervoor dat de race wat later wordt uitgezonden. Vind 14:00 persoonlijk echt een vervelend tijdstip. Ik zou veel liever de race rond een uur of 20:00 live op TV hebben. Maar ik kan me voorstellen dat 14:00 commercieel veel interresanter is en dat veel fans de voorkeur geven aan een tijdstip op de middag.
