Honda trekt twijfels bij volumeverhoging van Formule 1

Honda heeft twijfels bij het omhoogbrengen van het geluidsniveau van de huidige powerunits in de Formule 1.

Toen velen van mening waren dat de turbo-V6 motoren niet genoeg bijdroegen aan het spektakel, werd in 2016 een nieuw uitlaatsysteem geïntroduceerd met een extra wastegate, die meer herrie zou moeten produceren.

Het geluid ging echter maar omhoog met enkele decibellen, waardoor de FIA heeft aangekondigd dat de motorenleveranciers onderzoek doen naar mogelijkheden om nog meer geluid te produceren in 2018. 

"Als het gaat om het geluid ben ik het er niet mee eens. De Formule 1 zou toch geen gehoorbeschadigingen moeten opleveren", zei Honda's F1-chef Yasuke Hasegawa.

"Ik zie de meerwaarde niet van een kunstmatig versterkt geluid in de Formule 1, maar als het Formula One Management het introduceert zullen we de regels gewoon volgen", voegt hij toe.

    Daarmee heeft hij wel een punt. Er zijn de laatste tijd ook weinig opmerkingen meer over het geluid. Wellicht mede veroorzaakt door voldoende actie in de race?

      Ik denk eerder gewenning. De extra wastegate heeft er vooral voor gezorgd dat het aantal decibel veel hoger ligt dan vorig jaar. Een F1 motor maakt in 2016 een flinke bak herrie in vergelijking met 2014. Echter het jankgeluid van een V8-10-12 krijg je er nooit mee terug, daarvoor ligt het toerental te laag.

    Ja, het is wel apart om met oorkleppen een race te bij te wonen, maar het draagt absoluut 210% bij aan de beleving.

    Helemaal eens met deze man. Ook meer stilte is vooruitgang en de Formule 1 moet vooroplopen met techniek en meer stilte hoort daar ook bij.

    Waarom leveren ze niet een podcast met versterkte geluiden zodat alleen de oren van diegene die dat nodig hebben beschadigd worden?

    Ja, ik durf nu de minnen weg zijn ;o)

      Goed idee, ziggo heeft waarschijnlijk ook wel een zender over voor mensen die gefopt willen worden met nepgeluid.

    Iemand ooit wel eens een F1 bolide met een V10 op een meter of 20 voorbij horen komen? Dan staat het kippenvel letterlijk op je rug.

    Probleem is dat de norm steeds maar weer naar beneden is bijgesteld, met als resultaat dat we nu maar tevreden moeten zijn met het geluid van de huidige V6? Het klinkt bijna hetzelfde als wanneer ik mijn senseo apparaat aanzet.
    Wat mij betreft weer een veel rauwer geluid in de toekomst.

      Sorry mannen, ik was vergeten te vertellen dat ik een Senseo met ingebouwde turbo heb. Verkrijgbaar bij de betere vakwinkel natuurlijk.

    Kunstmatige herrie voegt niks toe en oprechte herrie maken deze motoren simpelweg niet.

    Wat kan jij daar nou aan toevoegen ?
    Gewoon braaf goeie techniek leveren en verder b** dicht.


    Kijk naar jullie eigen motoren historie, met b.v. de 250 cc 6 cilinder.

      -voor Floris. (de eerste min die ik geef trouwens) Vooruitgang moet je niet tegen te houden. Daar hoort ook een 'modern' motorengeluid bij. En zeker geen kunstmatig gedoe. Dat Is er al meer dan voldoende in de F-1.

    Het niet willen veroorzaken van een gehoorbeschadiging is natuurlijk den mooi streven maar geluid is zo ontzettend belamgrijk voor beleving. Een discotheek of dance festival waar de muziek staat afgesteld op 80Db zal vaak een dooie boel blijven.

    Okee ,,dan gaan we het maar weer eens over het geluid hebben...
    Hoe meer benzine motor lawaai hoe beter, wan dan hoor je ze al van heel ver al aan komen. vinden jullie het te geluid te hard, zetten jullie maar oorkappen op het hoofd.
    nu hoor je ze pas aan komen als ze al voorbij zijn. dat vind ik dus jammer. het is toch ook een stuk beleving die je weer mist. ik bedoel de beleving,, je hoord ze al aan komen, , maar je ziet ze nog niet.
