Coureurs niet langer marionetten van de pitmuur

Formule 1-coureurs zijn door de nieuwe regels met betrekking tot het radioverkeer geen poppen meer die op afstand door engineers bestuurd worden. Dat zegt Mercedes-rijder Nico Rosberg. De nieuwe regels belonen degenen die hun huiswerk het beste hebben gemaakt.

Rosberg: "De richting die we op zijn gegaan bevalt me wel, als coureurs zijn we meer op onszelf aangewezen. De voorbereiding op een race is nu nog belangrijker. Ik werk intens met mijn engineer om alles door te nemen waar hij me tijdens de wedstrijd niks over mag vertellen."

"Daar ligt nu meer de nadruk op, het is meer complex. In de races is het goed. We rijden en doen alles zelf, het is uitdagend. Ik hou ervan. We zijn niet langer marionetten van de pitmuur. Daar is een einde aan gemaakt en dat is een goede beslissing geweest."

Het is niet gek dat Rosberg te spreken is over de nieuwe regels. De Duitser schreef de eerste vier races van 2016 op zijn naam en gaat riant aan de leiding in het kampioenschap.

Grappig dat Rosberg dat zegt, die was zelf altijd de eerste die liep te piepen als er iets niet liep zoals hij wilde. Nu kan hij niet meer vragen hoe het opgelost moet worden en nu vindt hij het opeens beter zo?

      Geen idee Guido, of ze er dit weekend toch weer een keertje bij is. Van mij mag het. Zolang ze haar mooie mondje maar houdt, want in onzin heb ik geen interesse. ;-)

      Wellicht is ze er bij. Voor een beetje interessant doen met een headset op is ze wel te porren volgens mij. Knapt de Renault pitbox wel wat van op :)

    Rosberg zal toch heel anders gepiept hebben als het nog net iets langer had geduurt voordat Mercedes hem mocht waarschuwen en hij stil was gevallen.
