Whitmarsh denkt aan herinvoering tests nu economie verbetert

Een versoepeling van de testreglementen in de nabije toekomst behoort tot de mogelijkheden. Dat laat McLaren-teambaas Martin Whitmarsh, ook president van teamverbond FOTA, weten. Nu de economie langzaam maar zeker aantrekt is testen weer een optie.

Whitmarsh: Door de economische crisis moesten we harde maatregelen nemen, maar we zien tekenen van verbetering waardoor we binnenkort weer kunnen denken aan testen. Als de gezondheid van de teams is gewaarborgd, dan is het mogelijk. Een of twee testsessies tijdens een seizoen, bestaande uit twee, drie dagen met één auto om dingen uit te proberen, zo zie ik dat voor me.
