Honda legt de fundering voor grote stap in 2017

Honda benut dit seizoen om de fundering te leggen om volgend jaar een aanzienlijke stap voorwaarts te zetten. De Japanse motorenpartner van McLaren heeft dit seizoen nog geen tokens besteed aan upgrades voor de motor en heeft derhalve nog veertien tokens over. Honda geeft de voorkeur aan een paar grote updates boven allerlei kleine verbeteringen.

De meeste energie en aandacht gaan echter uit naar de voorbereiding op 2017. Eric Boullier van McLaren deelde aan Autosport mede: "Een zelfde vooruitgang als Renault is mogelijk voor Honda. We zullen zien. Honda heeft nog wat tokens over, dus ze hebben de mogelijkheid om wat te doen. Met veranderingen aan de huidige aandrijflijn kunnen ze ook weer leren met het oog op 2017."

"Zo zou ik het aanpakken; proberen de huidige situatie te verbeteren, maar altijd met in het achterhoofd om de fundering te leggen om volgend jaar een grote stap te zetten. Betrouwbaarheid was de eerste prioriteit voor Honda, nu is het zaak om meer performance toe te voegen. Daar werken we samen aan. Het is complex omdat alles in verband staat met elkaar. Het hergebruiken van energie en de verbrandingsmotor vormen de speerpunten voor Honda."

    Dan moeten ze voor volgend jaar wel Stoffel ruilen tegen Magnussen, duidelijk de betere van de 2.

    Bengelke bashmodus uit.
    Zou mooi zijn als Stoffel volgend jaar in die auto zit.

      Magnussen is niet meer verbonden aan McLaren en racet dit jaar zelfs voor Renault.

    Maar het wordt dus niet door Honda gezegd maar door Eric Boullier. Die dan ook nog zegt dat hij het zo zou aanpakken.

    Nu is het de partner van Honda dus hij zal wel iets te vertellen hebben maar het lijkt mij daarom wel meer een wens.

    Als ze slim zijn hebben ze die 2017 motor nu al op de testbanken staan anders wordt het weer niks.
    In 2017 heb je geen tokens, dus ze gooien hun motor totaal om, maar als ze daar mee wachten tot 2017 zie ik het somber in voor ze.

      ze kunnen niet anders, de configuratie zoals het nu is met de turbo in het blok is een mislukking.
      Honda weet het maar kan het blok niet veranderen. Ik durf te wedden dat ze nu bezig zijn met de configuratie zoals mercedes die heeft met turbo en compressor elk aan de zijkant.
      Dat blok wordt nu ontwikkeld met het huidige blok als basis en dat is de reden dat de tokens niet ingezet worden.
      Eerst zien wat er veranderd moet worden, dat ontwikkelen en testen en eventueel tokens voor inzetten.
      Wellicht kleine verbeteringen dit jaar maar alle research op de nieuwe 2017 motor.
      Probleem is dan dus wel dat 2017 dus ook een test jaar wordt.
      Ik heb het al vaker gezegd, honda heeft gegokt en verloren

    Dus eigenlijk zijn ze nu aan het 2e testseizoen begonnen alvorens het écht moet gaan gebeuren in 2017. Als Alonso dit van te voren had geweten...

    Snap niks van het token-systeem, ze willen ze nu nog niet inzetten om 2017 beter te kunnen voorbereiden, maar volgend jaar vervallen de tokens... ik zou nu alles inzetten op hun verbrandings- en herbruikbaar energie unit om toch nog een gooi naar een 3de of 4de plek te wagen... We zullen al zien hoe ver ze staan dit week-end gezien dit DE race van het jaar zou moeten zijn
