Michael Schumacher onderscheiden voor oeuvre

Michael Schumacher krijgt deze week een oeuvreprijs. De allereerste uitvoering van de Nürburgring Award gaat naar de legendarische Duitser, die zeven wereldtitels won in de Formule 1. Hij kan de prijs niet zelf in ontvangst nemen, dat zal manager Sabine Kehm namens hem doen.

Voormalig Mercedes-motorsportbaas Norbert Haug deelde aan Bild mede: "Niemand verdient deze award meer dan Michael. Deze prijs voor zijn levenswerk zal hem kracht geven in zijn proces naar herstel." Schumacher revalideert van een skiongeluk van eind 2013.

      De Nurburgring awards gaan elk jaar uitgereikt worden, het is een autosport award met hierin drie categorieen:

      - Ambassadeur van het jaar
      - Merk van het jaar
      - Lifetime Achievement

      De eerste prijs weet ik niet naar wie die gaat, de tweede gaat naar Mercedes en de derde dus naar Schumi.

      De winnaars worden bepaald door een jury, die bestaat dit jaar uit een Duitse F1 reporter, Timo Glock en Norbert Haug.

      Ik hoop het, maar gezien het al zolang stil is, vraag ik mij sterk af of hij niet meer dan een kasplantje is..

      Mooiste zou zijn als we hem ooit nog een publiek optreden kunnen zien maken, en hij op één of andere manier toch nog van het leven kan genieten.

    Wel is het idee dat er tegenwoordig meer prijzen zijn dan topsporters, ook in de showbizz slaat het zo door ,,,wordt er bijna dagelijks wel ergens een "belangrijke" prijs uitgerijkt .. Gaat een beetje lijken op die oude Sovjet-generaals,, die hadden zoveel onderscheidingen dat het niet op het uniform paste..
