Jan Lammers viert vandaag zijn 60ste verjaardag

Oud Formule 1-coureur Jan Lammers is vandaag jarig. De Nederlander heeft de leeftijd van 60 jaar bereikt. Lammers was tussen 1979 en 1982 actief in de Formule 1 en maakte in 1992 nog een onverwachtse comeback. In totaal kwalificeerde hij zich 23 keer voor een Grand Prix, in 41 pogingen. Een negende plaats was zijn beste resultaat. In Le Mans had hij meer succes, in 1988 schreef hij de 24 uurs-race op zijn naam. De felicitaties gaan uit naar de jarige Lammers.

    Congrats Jantje!
    Wat een vette bolide was die 88er Jaguar toch, was echt de golden age of sportscars. Helaas door de Fia met regelementen begin 90er jaren kapot gemaakt toen het een bedreiging voor F1 ging vormen.

    In mijn ogen nog steeds de beste Nederlandse coureur aller tijden, omdat hij in zoveel klasses succesvol is geweest. Veel respect voor die man. Van harte!

      Helemaal mee eens Ridertje! Zeer goede analist, scherpe commentator ook bij destijds Canal+ en sinds een paar races ook top-ambassadeur van Max en de Formule 1 bij de NOS. Weet in mijn beleving zeer goed uit te leggen aan de Formule 1-leek wat er tijdens de race is gebeurd maar ook achtergrondinfo die de echte kenner wilt horen. Van harte Jan en dat je maar snel naast Olav als co-commentator op locatie mag aanschuiven!

    Echte liefhebber in hart en nieren. Volgens mij is ie zelfs officieus Wereldkampioen Verschillende klassen. Stond naar verluid op de shortlist van Colin Chapman, maar het werd Elio D'Angelis. Het missen van die kans - wie zal het zeggen - is uiteindelijk misschien wel zijn grootste triomf geweest.

      Jan was ook in de picture om in te vallen voor Alain Prost bij Renault (na diens crash in Monaco) maar brak toen een race van tevoren zijn duim tijdens een crash.

      Was inderdaad voor vervanging van Pironi. Moet je voorstellen dat je een telefoontje ontvangt uit Maranello, of je even in kan stappen in de beste auto van dat seizoen.

    Over een Professeur in de autosport gesproken,,, denk dat Jan Lammers die titel nog eerder toekomt dat Prost..... Jan was/is ook altijd aan 't nadenken als hij raced.... Volgens mijn analyse heeft hem dat in de F1 eerder tegengewerkt dan geholpen... In alles de tegenpool van Jos ...
