Ryan: "Manor Racing nog lang niet snel genoeg"

Manor Racing heeft ten opzichte van vorig seizoen een behoorlijke stap voorwaarts gemaakt, het is alleen niet voldoende geweest om de achterhoede te ontvluchten. De Britse renstal is nog steeds vaak rode lantaarn-drager. Alleen het gat naar de teams voor hen is een flink stuk kleiner.

Manor-directeur Dave Ryan vertelde aan Reuters: "Er bestaat geen twijfel over dat de auto van dit jaar een enorme verbetering ten opzichte van zijn voorganger is. Maar we zijn nog lang niet snel genoeg. Dit seizoen kunnen we wel de competitie met een aantal teams om ons heen aangaan en daar was een reuzensprong voor nodig. Maar de performance moet eigenlijk nog beter."

"Er is niet één bepaalde zwakke plek, we laten overal tijd liggen. Het is onze wens om uit te groeien tot een solide team in de middenmoot, maar we weten ook dat dit een kwestie van de lange adem is. Dat gaan we dit jaar of volgend jaar niet redden, dat kost zeker nog vier tot vijf jaar."

Respect voor dit leuke team, hopelijk kunnen ze de relatie met Mercedes uitbouwen op technisch gebied....handig ook als Mercedes hun talenten kan stallen bij een soort van opleidingsteam voor gratis motoren.
