Interpol vindt bewijslast tegen Mallya 'te mager'

Force India-teambaas Vijay Mallya kan even opgelucht adem halen. CNBC-TV18 bericht dat Interpol de bewijslast tegen de Indiase zakenman te mager vindt voor uitlevering aan zijn geboorteland. In eigen land loopt een rechtszaak tegen hem vanwege openstaande schulden.

De schuldeisers zijn voornamelijk banken die geld van de failliete luchtvaartmaatschappij Kingfisher Airlines tegoed hebben. Mallya is door de rechtbank al meerdere malen opgeroepen om zich te verantwoorden, maar de mede-eigenaar van Force India heeft daar nog geen gehoor aan gegeven.

Mallya raakte na het bankroet van zijn luchtvaartmaatschappij in zijn eigen land financieel in ongenade. Hij was ooit één van de rijkste mensen in India, maar is momenteel op de vlucht voor justitie, de fiscus en schuldeisers in zijn eigen land en zou zich in Groot-Brittannië bevinden.
