Pirelli verwacht spektakel in Canadese Grand Prix

Bandenfabrikant Pirelli verwacht spektakel tijdens de Grand Prix van Canada die vanavond om 20:00 uur Nederlandse tijd van start gaat. De coureurs uit de top tien starten allen op de ultrasoft band, maar vanwege de voorspelde weersomstandigheden kan het zijn dat de traditionele eenstopper in Canada tijdens deze editie niet van toepassing is.

Ongeacht wat het weer gaat doen zullen de lage temperaturen van invloed zijn op de race. Tijdens de race wordt een temperatuur van slechts vijftien graden verwacht en gedurende het weekend was al te zien dat sommige coureurs moeite hebben met het op temperatuur krijgen van de banden.

Paul Hembery, directeur motorsport van Pirelli, laat het volgende weten: "In de aanloop naar de kwalificatie zagen we al dat sommige teams duidelijk moeite hebben met de lage temperaturen. Voor de race worden ook lage temperaturen voorspeld en het zou ook nog eens kunnen gaan regenen. Alle ingrediënten voor een spektakelstuk zijn aanwezig. In Canada hoef je op pole te staan om de race te winnen."
