Lewis Hamilton genomineerd voor ESPY Award

Mercedes-coureur Lewis Hamilton heeft een nominatie voor een ESPY Award op zak. De regerend wereldkampioen is genomineerd in de categorie 'Beste Rijder van het Jaar'. De uitreiking van de awards vindt plaats op 13 juli aanstaande.

Hamilton krijgt in zijn categorie tegenstand van IndyCar-kampioen Scott Dixon, Indy 500-winnaar Alexander Rossi, NASCAR-kampioen Kyle Busch en NHRA Pro Stock-kampioene Erica Enders-Stevens. ESPY staat voor 'Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly'.

Hamilton veroverde vorig jaar zijn derde wereldtitel in de Formule 1. Hij was ook genomineerd voor een Laureus Award, maar die ging naar tennisser Novak Djokovic.
