Den Haag met Red Bull in gesprek over F1-demo

De stad Den Haag gaat met Red Bull praten over de mogelijkheden voor een Formule 1-demonstratie in de stad. Vorige maand werd bekend dat City Racing Rotterdam dit jaar weer niet door kan gaan. In Den Haag is nu het plan opgevat om een eigen evenement op poten te zetten.

De gemeente staat 'sympathiek' tegenover het idee voor Formule 1-demo in Den Haag. Wethouder Karsten Klein van het CDA vertelde aan Omroep West: "Het college biedt succesvolle organisatoren van grootschalige evenementen graag onze stad aan als podium om een evenement of festival te organiseren. Het beleid voor grootschalige publieksevenementen is gericht op het realiseren van economische spin-off voor de stad."

"Recentelijk is bekend geworden dat dit jaar opnieuw de Red Bull Knock Out-race in Den Haag plaatsvindt. Het college wil in overleg treden met de organisatie om naar de mogelijkheden te kijken om bij dit evenement hier op een passende wijze aandacht aan te geven."

Gemeenteraadslid Richard de Mos probeerde vijf jaar geleden al iets van de grond te krijgen in Den Haag. "Want het past echt bij Den Haag om meer toeristen te lokken. Wij zijn er nog niet. We moeten nog zien hoe serieus en actief de lobby van de gemeente gaat worden. Maar er liggen zeker kansen. Vooral omdat het evenement in Rotterdam op zijn gat ligt. Laten wij nu eens wat van die stad stelen."

    Als ze die Red Bull F1 Demo dan ook op het strand doen, dan kan Max weer een ondergrond afvinken van zijn lijstje. (asfalt, ijs, sneeuw, strand...)

      Lijkt me zo lastig op gras maar goed... ;-)

      In de stad gaat ook lastig aangezien in Den Haag altijd alles overhoop ligt en overal werkzaamheden zijn.

      Mocht het zo ver komen gaan we wel ff langs natuurlijk. Den Haag ligt om de hoek. Niet dat Rotterdam zo ver weg is maar dat is een kutstad ;-)

    Wellicht een idee om een Formula E race te organiseren in Den Haag.
    Bij voorkeur misschien wel Scheveningen, daar werdt ooit de allereerste "autorace" van Nederland gehouden.

    Overigens zou het voor meerdere steden in Nederland geen verkeerde optie zijn om eens over het organiseren van een ePrix na te denken.
    Ze zijn "milieu neutraal", stil en meestal is het niet nodig om het parkoer langer dan een dag af te sluiten voor normaal verkeer.
    Ik weet dat Zoetermeer enkele jaren voor FE ontstond al eens herft nagedacht over een "groene race" in hun stad. Wellicht voor hen een optie, er zijn genoeg geschikte wegen daar voor een mooie baan. Ik moet ergens nog een plattegrond hebben van het circuit dat men in gedachte had een paar jaar terug. Mocht ik 'm vinden dan post ik 'm hier. Zoetermeer is een stad die graag prestitieuze evenementen of ideeën binnenhaalt, en bovendien....grotendeels ex-Hagenezen :-p
