Laatste loodjes in contractbesprekingen Monza

De organisatie van de Italiaanse Grand Prix legt momenteel de laatste hand aan een nieuwe verbintenis voor de Formule 1-race op Monza. Angelo Sticchi Damiani, voorzitter van automobielclub ACI, verwacht spoedig een akkoord over verlenging.

Dan moeten de contracten nog uitgewerkt en ondertekend worden. Dat zal ongetwijfeld ook de nodige tijd in beslag nemen. Sticchi Damiani gaat dan ook uit van een aankondiging in september. "De laatste loodjes wegen altijd zwaar", zegt hij in La Repubblica.

"We zijn dicht bij een nieuwe verbintenis voor de Grand Prix van Italië, op Monza. We ronden de overeenkomst voor de zomer af. De handtekeningen volgen in september, misschien in de dagen rondom de Italiaanse Grand Prix. Dat zou een leuke bijkomstigheid zijn."
