Jenson Button verklaart 'Formule Wanhoop'-uitspraken

Nadat Jenson Button eerder deze week verklaarde dat de jonge coureurs soms zo wanhopig reden dat hij dacht in de 'Formula Desperate' terecht te zijn gekomen, heeft hij deze uitspraken op de Red Bull Ring genuanceerd.

Hoewel hij eerder meldde dat sommige journalisten hun vak niet verstonden en dat bovengenoemde quote niet zijn eigen woorden waren, confronteerde UOL Esporte hem met de audio-opname van de originele quote. Daarop verklaarde hij: "Jonge coureurs rijden niet meer zoveel seizoenen in de lagere klassen als vroeger en dat brengt bepaalde gedragingen met zich mee, die vroeger niet in de Formule 1 voorkwamen."

"Er wordt veel druk op hen gelegd om al in het eerste jaar bepaalde doelstellingen te behalen," voegde hij daaraan toe. Dit terwijl Button zelf al op 19-jarige leeftijd een rijderszitje kreeg bij Williams. ''Ik zou zelfs willen zeggen dat ik een goed voorbeeld ben van iemand die nog niet klaar was voor de F1, maar als je op die leeftijd de kans krijgt om in deze klasse te mogen rijden, zeg je natuurlijk geen nee.''

      Dat is het boetekleed dat hij aantrok nadat hij geconfronteerd was met audio opnamen waaruit bleek dat hij eerder wel degelijk de gewraakte uitspraken had gedaan.

    Volgens mij heeft Button vorig jaar meer keer andere auto's geraakt dan de "jonge coureurs" waar hij over spreekt. Denk dat Button dan klassement leider is in de "Formula Desperate".

    Vroeger had je geen drempels, enzovoorts....

    Zou het iets zijn om naast een minimum leeftijd ook een uiterste houdbaarheid datum in te stellen voor de formule 1.
    Ben lang fan geweest van Button, maar begin nu meer en meer mijn bedenkingen te krijgen.

      Heeft gisteren toch maar mooi q3 gehaald en Alonso niet. Oké, was met geluk en goede timing, maar hij heeft dit wel zelf afgedwongen. En zich voor RBR en 1 Ferrari gekwalificeerd.

    Volgens mij heeft hij prima aangegeven dat de woorden verdraaid zijn om zijn uitspraken meer zwart-wit te maken en geeft hij vervolgens aan dat hijzelf ook te vroeg in F1 is gekomen.
    (daarOP verklaarde hij .... is een vertaling wat OPgenomen is)

    Vind Button geen verkeerd persoon in F1. Doorsnee genomen: geen zeur, geen onbeschofte houdingen, geen rariteiten op de baan, keurig gedag en kan een knap potje sturen!
