Force India grijpt terug op oude achterwielophanging

Force India maakt komend weekend bij de Britse Grand Prix op Silverstone gebruik van een oudere versie van de achterwielophanging. De Indiase renstal kampt sinds een upgrade in Spanje met hevige bandenslijtage. Dat was ook de oorzaak voor de mindere prestaties in de Oostenrijkse Grand Prix. Force India zal proberen die problemen zo snel mogelijk op te lossen.

Coureur Sergio Perez: "De levensduur van onze banden is niet best dit seizoen en dit weekend staan meerdere tests op programma in een poging om antwoorden te vinden voor de vragen die we hebben. Deel van het probleem was dat de voorvleugel niet goed functioneerde, dus we hebben een nieuwe voorvleugel. Dat scheelt waarschijnlijk al een slok op een borrel."

"Daarnaast hebben we ook delen van de achterwielophanging gewijzigd. Ik geloof dat de oorzaak daar te halen valt. We proberen vrijdag verschillende onderdelen uit en hopelijk steken we er wat van op. We zijn een van de slechtste teams wat betreft levensduur van de banden. Het is iets dat verbetering behoeft en ik hoop dat we dit weekend de eerste stap kunnen zetten."
