Philippe Bianchi: "Elke dag huil ik om Jules"

Bijna een jaar na zijn overlijden, staat de helm van Jules Bianchi op de keukentafel van zijn ouders. Zijn overall hangt in de keuken. De pijn voor de familie Bianchi is nog steeds ondraaglijk.

Op 17 juli 2015 overleed Jules Bianchi aan de verwondingen die hij opliep bij een zware crash tijdens de Grand Prix van Japan van 2014. Door het slechte weer moest Bianchi, die zwaar hersenletsel opgelopen had, per auto naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd worden. Binnen een uur na de crash zat vader Philippe in het vliegtuig naar Japan

Tegenover CNN bekent Philippe: "Elke dag, als ik zijn foto zie, huil ik." De crash heeft hij nog nooit teruggezien. "Het is niet normaal om een kind te verliezen. Het is moeilijk voor iedere ouder die een kind verliest. Voor mij, mijn vrouw, voor iedereen."

Bianchi werd de eerste Formule 1-dode sinds Ayrton Senna in 1994. Direct na de crash van Bianchi had Philippe door dat er iets vreselijk mis was. Hij had gezien dat Jules tegen een bergingsvoertuig gecrasht was, en een telefoontje uit Japan dwong hem om zo snel mogelijk daarheen te gaan. De prognose was niet goed.

Philippe vertelde CNN ook over de berichten die hij altijd naar zijn zoon stuurde voor de start van een race. "'Ik ben in gedachten bij je, maar morgen zit ik naast je in de auto', stuurde ik in de ochtend naar Jules. Maar het was voor het eerst dat hij er niet op reageerde. Misschien wist hij al dat er iets verkeerd zou gaan."

Ach krijg je dat sentimentele gedoe met berichtjes sturen. Sorry hoor maar voor mij is hij niet de eerste f1 dode na Senna. Wel een ongelukkige dode door fout van hemzelf en organisatie, dat maakt het schrijnend.

Oh ja, een HALO had niets geholpen.

  Bianchi is wel de eerste F1 coureur sinds Senna die overleden is ten gevolge van een incident in een Grand Prix weekend.
  
  Het blijft triest. En een HALO had inderdaad niet geholpen. Ik denk dat er sinds dat ongeluk genoeg gedaan is. De Virtual Safety Car. En ik mag hopen dat er nagedacht is over de sjofels en hoe deze geplaatst zijn bij het verwijderen van een wagen.

  Moest er inderdaad wel over nadenken of ik het zou plaatsen, toch wel gedaan. Natuurlijk is het trietst, zo'n jonge gast en talentrijk persoon te moeten laten gaan. Erg genoeg.

  Ach weet je, ik kan niet tegen dat sentimentele gedoe dat iedereen ineens in diepe rouw is, registers gaat tekenen en weet ik al niet meer voor mensen die ze totaal niet kennen persoonlijk. Laat de man rusten en de familie ook, is al erg genoeg wat er is gebeurd.
  
  Ben zeker niet ongevoelig, wel gevoelig hoe er met zaken wordt omgegaan binnen de media.

hartverscheurend om je zoon op zo'n jonge leeftijd te verscheuren. Echter dient de familie zich er bewust van te zijn dat Jules met de volle 100% koos voor deze risicovolle sport. Dat dit kan gebeuren is voor niemand onbekend. Net zo goed als dat ik vandaag van de steiger kan vallen.
Je krijgt je zoon er niet voor terug om alles en iedereen zwart te maken. Ook Jules had dat begrepen.

Diep, diep en diep respect naar zijn familie! Mooie woorden ook van zijn vader.... En eigenlijk was het al rond dat hij in 2015 naar Ferrari zou gaan. Tragische gebeurtenis in de Formule 1! Zwarte bladzijde...

  Waar heb je dat vandaan dat hij voor Ferrari zou racen? Ik dacht namelijk dat hij pas in 2016 de overstap naar Ferrari zou maken, en dat hij in 2015 één van de 5 coureurs was met een contract bij Sauber.
